Carlisle Mountaineering Club is a long established club, close to the English Lake District, catering for people with a wide range of hill walking and climbing interests. A busy, friendly club with a good base of active members, mainly in Carlisle and Penrith but also elsewhere in Northern Cumbria.

The club currently has over 100 members, from a wide range of backgrounds and ages, who are involved in a wide range of mountain activities, so there's always something going on to suit all tastes! These range from scrambling, bouldering, climbing and mountaineering in the spring and summer, to winter snow and ice climbing, and alpinism for the more adventurous. If that sounds too strenuous, or the weather's awful, then some of us just go for a walk!
