SOPPY HART grade 2 130m

This gully is found on the western side of Threshwaite Cove. If combined with a low angled ice fall on the approach (grade 2 50m pitch) it gives a pleasant day away from the crowds. The gully offers 2 short ice steps, then snow with occasional ice to a steep finish. This route was in full condition (Jan 2^nd 2011) when the only recorded route in the cove, Threshwaite Gully was far from it. The ice was hard water ice and required 5 ice screws^!
