SOPPY HART grade 2 130m

This gully is found on the western side of Threshwaite Cove. If combined with a low angled ice fall on the approach (grade 2 50m pitch) it gives a pleasant day away from the crowds. The gully offers 2 short ice steps, then snow with occasional ice to a steep finish. This route was in full condition (Jan 2nd 2011) when the only recorded route in the cove, Threshwaite Gully was far from it. The ice was hard water ice and required 5 ice screws!
