After having been in the UK for a number of years, and entertaining us all with his stories and antics, Marnus Malan is finally on his way back to South Africa. Marnus first met John and myself on our epic benightment on Skye. Since then he has been a member of the club, but, due to work commitments, has only managed to make a few meets. He brought laughter to everyone he met, and nobody could fail to be impressed by his infectious enthusiasm for the mountains. His courage and commitment to adventure was certainly an inspiraton to me, and I will miss him.

Well done to member Elliott Linnen for getting some of his photos published in Climber Magazine! Elliott also keeps some videos of his (and our!) climbing antics on his space at YouTube including his inspirational Naked Climber video. His latest offering is a moving tribute to his dog, Mosely, who died last year while Elliott was climbing at Stanage with the club.
